Job Title:  Administrative Assistant-Office
Number of positions: Two (2)
Wages:  $16.55 per hour + 4% vacation pay. Payment bi-weekly after deducting income tax, UI, and CPP at source.
Position: A summer position, 35 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Anticipated start date of the summer job: July 02, 2024.
Basic requirements: Age: Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment. Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Has a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations. International students are NOT eligible.  Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.  Candidates from the Nepean constituency shall be given preference.
Description of the Position:  The participant will be responsible for updating, populating, creating, and modifying pages, posts, photo galleries, videos, etc. Create and monitor Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts. The participant should have excellent writing skills. The participant shall be required to carry out administrative work, write the user manual, grant application, report writing and presentation, conduct a literature review, and update email lists. The participant shall survey the OFIC executive members to determine the activities to be taken up by OFIC in the next year. The participant shall be required to carry out other online learning activities as determined by the supervisor. Participants are to provide updates on progress made to the supervisor weekly.
Required Skills or Assets: The participant may have to work from home and therefore must have access to the computer.  The participant should have good knowledge of computer applications such as MSWORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and web browsing/searching. Knowledge of website development/design and data analytics will be considered an asset qualification. The participant should have excellent writing skills. Knowledge of a book design shall be considered as an asset qualification. Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
